Coates Hire Ipswich SuperSprint @ Queensland Raceway

The club will be attending the Supercars Ipswich Round for all three days of the event.

For those wishing to go on Sunday only, the meeting point on the Sunday is at the Redbank Plaza Car Park – near KFC.

The cruise out on SUNDAY is 6:15am meet for a 6:30am departure to QR.

Meeting place is the KFC Redbank lower car park.

Friday and Saturday, for those attending those days, there is no official organised cruise to the venue, simply make your own arrangement for those days.

Unfortunately Supercars have banned the use of BBQ’s – but the club has negotiated a deal with a food vendor situated just nearby our location on the back straight for a discounted breakfast on the Sunday. You are still able to bring personal quantity of food with you, but no alcohol is allowed through the gate, and cars will be inspected upon gate entry.

Tickets for the Coates Hire Ipswich Super Sprint will need to be purchased prior to the event via Ticketek.

Please note :- you need to purchase a General Admission Ticket (Trackside), Paddock Pass (optional but recommended) and a Park n View pass in order to park with the club trackside.

 

We will have our usual Club area on the back straight with our cars parked behind the spectator area for all three days of the event, with Sunday being the main attendance day. The Club has secured a marquee for some seating.

We suggest that you bring a chair and ensure you have plenty of sunscreen and bring headwear for shade.

GO KART NIGHT @ Big Kart Track

This year we are doing something different, we are trying a new venue and new format.

We are going to the “Big Kart Track” at Landsborough. They have new karts with 210cc motors. We will meet at the Big Kart Track at 6pm for a 6:30pm kick off.

We are going to do 4 X 15-minute sessions, no race format. You can download the big kart track app on your mobile phone and have it in your pocket whilst racing to record your time laps for bragging rights.

Who is allowed to race? You have to be over 12 years of age and over 152cm tall, helmets are provided and enclosed foot wear must be worn. We can have up to 30 people on the track at once so please get your name
down.

Fun for the whole family, if you have younger kids under 12 they have a kids track also $20 for 10 minutes.
A full café and a large covered deck is available as well. So come make a night of it with your fellow club members and have some fun on the track!

Cost is $125 per person

Need to be there for a 7.15am start and we will finish approx. 8.30am.

Location – For Lakeside : Function Room (Big yellow Building on the hill) Lakeside Raceway, Lakeside Road Kurwongbah (for your GPS). For those without Lakeside road is located just off Narangbah Road near the Dakibin Railway Station and the Gold club is on the corner.

Location – For QR : – Champions Way Willowbank it will be the food hall near the main tower

Arrival time at either venue – 7.00am for 7.15am start

Parking – Lakeside – Park below the function room between it and the track. There is bitumen drive with parking on grass area. For QR just park near main tower and bitumen everywhere.

Coffee and tea available 7.00am to 8.00am

Breakfast time 7.30am to 8.00ish

Breakfast menu – Bacon, eggs, baked beans, mushrooms, chipolata sausages, eggs and toast. Tea and coffee is also available.

Cost- $30 Single, $55 Couple, $70 Families with Children to age 12. Payable on the day to the club by cash, cheque or credit card.

Happy Laps – Commence 8.00am and will last around 20 minutes or a little longer depending on behavior on track.

Please note all passengers intending to ride in car must have arm bands and to get an arm band you need to pay as above. This event is run cost neutral and we do not make a profit from it.

Event will conclude at 8.30am.

Please note – Unfortunately Lakeside raceway has many sensitive neighbours so to help Queensland Raceways reputation and our own could you please ensure that we arrive and exit the venue and surrounds in a manner not designed to attract attention. We want the venue to keep its community licence to operate well into the future.

Rules for Happy Laps – (They may seem onerous but the vast majority attending will have participated before and have always left smiling and asking to do it again – So here’s your chance)

HAPPY LAPS ARE NOT HOT LAPS or TEST LAPS

Happy Laps are for family cruising NOT performance driving,

So;

  • Any car-to-car contact is an instant stop for the session
  • Any car going off the track is an instant stop for the session
  • >1 sec of tyre smoke is an instant stop for the session
  • Speed obviously in excess of 120kph is an instant stop for the session; this is more than fair as there are sprints and drag events that hot drivers can participate in if they want to go fast.
  • In addition, during Happy Laps;
  • No helmets are to be worn by anybody
  • No unregistered or trailered cars are permitted on the track
  • No cars fitted with aftermarket roll cages
  • All cars must have current registration and plates must not be obscured
  • Drivers may be breath tested including by the Police – anyone reading more than 0.00 will be banned from the track
  • QR will name and shame drivers who push the limits and cause a session to be cancelled

RSVP – Final numbers are needed by Tuesday prior to event so see dates above and via email treasurer@hsvowners.com.au.  Please indicate your name and number attending. If you want to pay by Credit Card in advance we need your, number, expiry and ccv and I will process Friday before the event. The club has to advise and pay in advance so if you advise your attendance we need your payment. The event is being run at no profit to keep prices reasonable so what we charge is what we have to pay QR.

Coffs Harbour Weekend Away

In conjunction with the HSV Owners Club of NSW we will be continuing the tradition of an annual weekend away in Coffs Harbour.

If you’ve never been away with the Club this is a fantastic opportunity to get to know your fellow Members better. There’s plenty of time to sit down with Members that you don’t know all that well and find out more about them & also letting them know more about yourself. All the Members who have been on the previous Coffs Harbour Weekends with the Club can confirm this event is one that shouldn’t be missed.

All accommodation MUST be booked personally and a deposit will be requested by Opal Cove Resort at the time of booking.

Arriving Friday afternoon at Opal Cove Resort Pacific Highway Coffs Harbour (keep an eye out for the signs as you approach Coffs Harbour) with a check-in time any time after 2:00pm.

Friday Afternoon/Evening – Drinks and Casual Dinner.

Saturday – A convoy departing to a nearby township for lunch.

Saturday Night – Drinks & Dinner

Sunday – Breakfast, goodbyes and departure for home.
