If you want to race this is not the event for you. If you want to stretch your cars legs and improve your driving skills we would love to have you along. You should also be aware that your car is unlikely to be covered by comprehensive insurance for any damage whilst on track.

Cruise to Flaxton Gardens, Sunshine Coast Hinterland @ Cruise meeting Point at Shell Nudgee
Sep 10 @ 8:00 am

The cruise will begin at the Shell Nudgee Truck Stop. Meeting time will be 8am departing at 8:30am sharp. Arrive early and grab some brekky and a coffee and have a chat with your fellow club members.

The cruise will travel up the Gateway motorway turning off the Bruce Highway towards Old Petrie Town then towards Dayboro, turning right up through Mount Mee then left onto Woodford. It is here that we will stop for about one hour to stretch the legs. From here we will head up to Peachester turning left on to Bald Knob Road, then through Maleny and Montville before arriving at Flaxton for lunch at about 11:45.

The cruise route is fantastic with a mixture of long open roads to twisty curves up the mountains, and the views over the Coast and the Glass House Mountains are to die for, just what you need for a Sunday cruise in your mean machine.

Lunch will be off the menu (click here for menu) on pre-order only. Names and Meal selection must be in by the 2nd September one week prior to the cruise. Meals payable for on arrival direct to the Flaxton Gardens.

Don’t miss this one members, the cruise route is exceptional and the restaurant superb at reasonable prices.

To put your name down for this cruise please email Ian Huddleston at [email protected] or text on 0407 610 674 (As there are meal selections, I need this via text or email ONLY)

Toowoomba All Holden Day @ Valleys Rugby League
Oct 1 all-day

Every year the Toowoomba All Holden day gets bigger and bigger as each year numbers continue to grow, and the best thing about this year Monday is a public holiday!!

WE NEED AS MANY CARS AS POSSIBLE, SHOW YOUR SUPPORT AND GET BEHIND THIS EVENT.

HSVOC have put together two options for this year’s show for those attending.

OPTION 1: Accommodation has been organised. For the Saturday night as well as there is a dinner for those who wish to attend. The accommodation is a 4 star, with under cover parking right outside your room. The cost is being confirmed but is normally around $120.00 per night twin share.

Dinner that night will be at the on site restaurant Chrysdals, which never disappoints!

The great part about staying in Toowoomba, is it’s not only a good social event, you can check in at 1pm Saturday, give your car another quick clean and only have about 5kms to travel to the show grounds on Sunday morning.

VENUE:

  • Glenfield Comfort Inn
  • 876 Ruthven St
  • Toowoomba
  • (07) 4635 4466 (Booking ID is HSV Owners)

2017 DRAG RACING PROGRAM
Willowbank Raceway

Date – Saturday October 14th 2017

Time – 2.00pm for a 2.30pm to 4.00pm Session and you can stay on for the 4.00pm open practice at no extra cost

Cost is $80.00 per entrant which includes 1 other spectator in that car. This is payable by cash/cheque/Credit card to the club on the day. Special pricing is available for same car significant other grudge matches. Please ask.

We will meet you at the front gate and issue you with your entry form and two entry tickets per car upon receipt of payment.
Additional spectator cost is $20 per Adult, $18.00 per student with ID and kids 13 and under are free. This is payable on entry at the gate on the day. Spectators can park inside as there is always plenty of room at the back of the tower on test and tune days.

Willowbank Raceway trackside café will be open.

Your car does not need to be registered nor does it need to be a HSV or HDT. We have no maximum competitor numbers and we have had up to 35 in the past with every one getting more than enough track time. We could easily cater for up to 50 so invite your friends along to compete and settle those long standing arguments once and for all. We don’t mind a bit of any Brand verse HSV/HDT action. If your car runs faster than 10.99 seconds please see Willowbank raceway website for special additional requirements.

Clothing requirements
Minimum Long sleeve shirt, full length pants and closed footwear.
Australian Standard Helmet required

If you are competing you will be issued with 2 entry forms at the gate. You will then make your way to the staging lanes where you will complete the Willowbank Raceway form and hand to scrutineer. The second club form will be handed in when you are ready to nominate your target time up to a maximum of 3 test passes. They will check your helmet and issue you with a number and the number will be written on your windows with white boot polish. This washes off afterwards with no damage. At nominated times above the lanes will be open and you will be free to run for 1.5 hours. Time slips are printed for each run and are available at the base of the tower for pick up. The club is supplied all timing information the following week to allow calculation of fastest time. Your entry covers you to stay on and run after 4.00pm in the main test and tune event.

For 2017 we are going to run the dial your own time format for scoring. After a maximum of 3 test passes you will hand in your information sheet which will identify you and your race number and you will nominate your time. Points will be allocated for the closest 2 passes for the remainder of the meet to the nominated time and you will need to compete in both events to qualify for the end of year trophy. The trophies on offer will be First to Third Male and First to Third Female.

If you want to be in the point score you will need to make sure you hand a nominated time form in on the day.

It is always a low stress great fun event. So please come out and have some fun and bring your mates with you. No need to advise your attendance in advance. Just make sure you are at the main gate by the nominated time on the day.
