September 2009
Hi Folks,
We are POWERING on this year with the Club and its events which are made possible by the support of our Members and our Dealership Sponsors. The Committee Members thank all the Club Members for your involvement in the organised events helping to make them a success and giving us encouragement to keep going at the pace we are currently travelling.
The General Meeting at Zupps Mt.Gravatt on Friday 31st July was a jammed packed evening with 50 Club Members & 5 Guests present. Thanks everybody for your Support. The night started with Brendan Watt from ProLube giving a presentation on oil types and their various applications. Thanks to Brendan for a very informative talk. Jason Witt from Ferris Car Care Products spoke about his range of products including the various polishes and cleaning products. Jason also provided an awesome full suite of car care products as a lucky door prize. Brendan Watt & ProLube also provided great lucky door prizes which included Oil & hats. Many Members walked away with a prize on the night. The night built up even further with Greg Litte, who heads up the Zupps Service Division, and Mark Walpole the head HSV Technician. They hooked up a brand new W427 to a computer and demonstrated how a 7 litre HSV motor is tuned and above all what information regarding how we drive our HSV’s can be retrieved from the computer in our cars. As Mark said “Big Brother Is Watching”. I promise Mark I quietly drive my HSV around the block and put it back in the shed. I am sure for all that were at the Meeting, many went away with mind blowing information. Robert Kay also spoke briefly about the Commodore Charity Cruise at QR this year with an invitation for Club members to get involved.
A huge thanks goes to Zupps HSV and Gerard Foster for hosting the night. Well done Gerard, that certainly will be a hard act to follow.
The Leyburn Sprint’s, what a great day!!! Cruising from Redbank Plains Shopping Centre at 6am on Sunday 16th August with 13 stunning HSVs. Our convoy to Toowoomba with a pit stop at McDonalds for a quick breakfast then cruising through to Leyburn for a great day of Sprint Racing. The Club Show and Shine Display was in one of the best positions in Town just down the road from the start line attracting a heap of attention especially with Richard & Rhonda’s W427 in the line up. At lunch time the Club display cars were given the opportunity to parade around the Race Circuit, a lot of fun was had by all. Thank you to the Members that made the effort to get out of bed early on a Sunday morning and come and enjoy each others company at a great Motor Sport Event. Thanks to Peter McIntyre the organiser for the Leyburn Motor Sprints for inviting us to display our cars. He and the other Members of their Organising Committee were very impressed with the display and have already invited us back for 2010. Looking forward to doing it again next year.

Congratulations Motorama HSV Springwood on a very successful sales campaign supplying a dealer paid Club Membership to each person that purchases a new HSV during the campaign. Joel with the amount of new Membership Applications coming through you fellows are certainly making a dent in HSV stocks. WELL DONE!!!
