June 2009
Hi Folks,
On Saturday the 18th of April 2009 at approximately 1pm on Pine Mountain Road, Raymond’s Hill was one of the most impressive displays of HRTs and HSVs assembled by the members of the HSV Owners Club of Qld. In total 36 magnificent cars ready for the trip into Ipswich to lead the “Ipswich Festival Parade” were present. Almost all models were represented, which was an absolute glorious sight to be hold of GM’s past and present MUSCLE CARS.
I would like to thank each of the members, their wives/partners, and their families, that joined in for the display. What a great show of strength and support for the Club and its members. Later we all enjoyed a get together at the Ipswich Golf Club for a bite to eat and a drink, where a great time was had discussing the events of the day.
I look forward to the same support for future events organised by the dedicated members of the Club’s Committee, and equally enjoying the company of all of our Club members that attend.
The May long weekend at the Australis Resort Noosaville, what a great weekend we had, Saturday night dinner many stories and yarns were shared and a couple of glasses of red and white were consumed as well as great food. On the Sunday, a cruise through the Sunshine Coast Hinterland with its amazing views back to the coast stopping for lunch at the Ettamogah Pub then returning back to the resort for a night of Pizza and Chicken where copious amount of red and white wine were consumed, also the HSV Owners Club sisterhood were in fine form with Colleen leading the way with the best joke of the night and other Ladies, no mentioning names continued that line of thought of the Night.
Greg Sharp has to be commended for organizing an awesome weekend, Greg this will truly be hard act to follow, Thank You Again, I am sure there will be many more wanting to join in on the fun of the next long weekend away when they hear the stories from this one.
Well, after 3 rounds of the V8 Super car series for 2009 completed our HRT friends are as follows in the competition
Will Davidson POINTS for 3 rounds 690 2nd Place
Garth Tander POINTS for 3 rounds 504 6th Place
Will Davidson certainly appears to be HRT’s best chance of winning the competition for the year and certainly has shown his ability as a very competent and consistent wheel man. I am sure you will all be watching the competition very closely this year.
Peter Woods has put together some great Motor Sport events and these are outlined in this magazine as well as more discussion at the meeting of the 29th May. Additionally a representative from Queensland Raceway will be in attendance to talk at some length about the package available to our Club.
Look forward to seeing you all there and I am sure you will find it a very informative night.
